Remember Me by Jovoy Parfums is not just a perfume to me; it is a memory. A dear memory that warms my soul, embraces me, and whispers to me of peace, of autumn, and of November.
A beloved November, when the days were getting colder and colder, when it was raining, but nothing about the grey clouds, the gloomy weather, or the strong wind could ruin my joy of being in Rome for the very first time.
Back then, on one of those days, I tested Remember Me for the first time. I wanted so much to try it because Cecile Zarokian, the perfumer who created this fragrance, is one of my favorites.
It was a rainy day. I remember being so excited when I saw the house of Jovoy on the perfumery shelf, but to my surprise and sadness, Remember Me wasn't there. So I asked about it, and lo and behold, on that November day, I was left with the perfume on my hand, on my sweater, and in my heart for the entire day.
I retested Remember Me when I returned to Rome two years later, and again in 2022, but every single time, my small carry-on luggage prevented me from buying it. And now, on the occasion of the new Jovoy concept—an aesthetic and harmonious concept featuring new bottles and a new, highly elegant logo—I have received this gorgeous perfume.
And yes, I can say that I love it. Because it warmed me, it brought back that sense of comfort, safety, and caress that only a warm and gentle perfume can give you. That is how Remember Me is. Warm, gentle, and delicate, it caresses and calms you with its exquisite, bohemian beauty.
I have recently begun to adore autumn, the cold season, and even the longer nights and shorter days. Not only for their beauty, but also because they offer me time for myself—time for relaxation and rest, and time for my rituals that I hold so dear. And during this time of introspection, solitude, and healing, I love to drink tea with milk, to read or to write, and to put on perfume.
And Remember Me is that very scent that warms my soul, just like a mug of warm, aromatic tea with a splash of soothing milk.
Remember Me opens with notes of cardamom, lemon, and bergamot. I simply adore cardamom, both in perfumes and as a spice in various dishes. The opening is slightly citrusy, bright, and spicy—fresh, yet at the same time warm and aromatic.
In the heart notes, the fragrance warms up from the ginger notes, but it also becomes powdery and slightly dry-dusty from the tea notes. However, this slightly dusty, bitter note is rounded out by frangipani, which lends the perfume a creamy, exotic, and florally-sweet nuance.
The base of the perfume is lactonic, sweetish, and vanilla-infused, with the fragrance becoming creamy, velvety, and sweet, like a mug of tea where you've added a vanilla pod, a bit of cardamom, and sweet milk.
It is a perfume of mood, of introspection, of joy for the soul—a fragrance that warms any cold day and chases away even the darkest clouds. A poetic perfume that settles upon your soul, upon your heart, and stays there, making a fluffy, warm nest in the very core of your being.
Tenderness and poetry, a harmony of warm, bright, vanilla, and woody notes make Remember Me the promise of a perfect November—a November filled with beautiful memories, the warm scent of tea, the quiet of the evening, and the melancholy of autumn. It is a fragrance you want to remember again and again, like a promise of tenderness, delicacy, and nostalgia captured within the notes of a perfume-poem.
