I don't know how many of you know that I adore gourmand perfumes. Those sweet, warm, savory scents meant to make you feel like a child, to enjoy life, and to pamper yourself. I love them just as much as I love sweets, but since I am not allowed to eat sweets, every now and then, a single spritz of a delicious perfume makes me feel so good!
I am the kind of woman who adores classic, diaphanous, and airy perfumes, but also woody and chypre fragrances. However, I cannot help but delight my soul with this category, which, from my point of view, is more of an olfactory experience than just a perfume! Perhaps even more so than a classic perfume because it has a mission—so beneficial for us—to soothe us, to delight our senses, and to make us feel like children again.
Whether we are talking about fruity perfumes or fragrances with ingredients also used in gastronomy, gourmand perfumes are the ones that literally "make your mouth water"—you crave them when you smell them, they make you think of something delicious, you actually hunger for them, and they give you the sensation of a dessert. Notes of marshmallows, dried fruits, caramels, vanilla, white chocolate, macarons, cocoa, pistachio, cotton candy, warm milk, cinnamon, baked apples, plums, blueberries, ice cream—these are just a few of the delicious notes that make up the category of gourmand fragrances or pastry-inspired perfumes!
Sometimes, testing so many scents, each more beautiful than the last, I ask myself:
"Do we really still need perfumes that smell like a cake?"
My answer is always YES! A thousand times YES!
And I will list the reasons for you—gourmand perfumes are easy to love and easy to wear; whether you choose a simple fruity scent or a fruity one with pastry notes, perhaps even a perfume that smells like chocolate or marshmallows, it is simple to wear! It doesn't require a special outfit, it doesn't demand a different attitude, it doesn't carry you away, and it doesn't dominate you—it just envelops you with a natural ease that feels like a caress.
A gourmand perfume is always youthful, so it can change your attitude, your mood, and yes, a gourmand perfume always gives me that dose of serotonin I need when there is no sun in the sky and I can't enjoy something sweet either. A gourmand perfume has no age; you can easily gift a light gourmand perfume with bright, fruity nuances.
You can peacefully savor a gourmand perfume without any guilt—it doesn't make you gain weight, it doesn't raise your blood sugar, but it does boost your serotonin, dopamine, and inner sense of joy. And men will always love women who smell sweet-delicious! Because it brings back a feeling of warmth, familiarity, femininity, and gentleness, which then activates their instinct to care, to caress, and to pamper.
And we just adore being caressed and pampered!
And now, after this introduction, I want to present to you a new niche house that has the most beautiful gourmand perfumes in its portfolio! I am talking about the niche house Librery Paris.

I will start with my favorite—Hot Sand.
A white, creamy perfume, like a fine milk froth with hazelnuts, where you have added a few generous cubes of white chocolate, hot almond milk that has melted the chocolate and given it creaminess, and on top, you have lavishly placed a generous layer of whipped cream with a topping of caramelized hazelnuts. What do you think of this dessert drink?
The perfume opens with notes of velvety orchid and bright notes of jasmine! However, right from the start, I feel the warm, creamy, and sweet notes from the heart of the perfume—white chocolate, whipped cream, and almond milk. Here, the blend becomes sumptuous and sweet-vanilla, yet airy and bright! It is not a heavy, suffocating perfume; it is light and very easy to wear! Deliciously sweet, you must love wearing gourmand perfumes because this is the most gourmand one in their portfolio.
The base is powdery and creamy, but it also has woody notes—sandalwood arrives to add a bit more creaminess and velvety nuances, musk powders and elevates the scent, and cedarwood cuts just a little, but only a little, through the sweetness.
My second favorite gourmand perfume is Sun Ice because I adore pistachio!
Sun Ice is everything delicious you can imagine with pistachio—éclairs, macarons, choux—it is divine! Delicious, delicious, and ultra-delicious!
It opens fresh and fruity with notes of bergamot and blackcurrant, and then, in the middle notes, the perfume becomes delicious—slightly powdery and extremely velvety, gourmand, with notes of green apple, heliotrope, caramels, and looots of pistachio!
The base is also sweet and velvety, aromatic and delicious—I think I've said delicious a lot of times by now, haven't I? Because it truly is absolutely delicious. Tonka bean, amber, white musk, vanilla, sandalwood, and cedarwood. Everything enveloped in sweet and aromatic nuances of pistachio!
A colorful and fragrant joy for this season and beyond.
Palmeira is an amber-oriental perfume, an overdose of plums and roses, blueberries and amber notes, whose very name introduces me to a romantic, mysterious, and oriental story.
And it is no great surprise that I love this perfume—it has all the ingredients to become one of my favorites for the cold season, because it is warm, glamorous, seductive, yet also feminine.
Palmeira opens sweet, fruity, but also slightly musky—right from the top notes we encounter passion fruit, blueberries, and raspberry. In the middle notes, we can feel an explosion of sweet, velvety roses, immersed in powdery notes of violet and an overdose of fruity plum notes. It has a deep yet delicate side; it is a sophisticated, seductive, slightly mysterious perfume, but at the same time, very feminine!
The base is creamy, slightly sweetish, powdery, and musky. Sandalwood, praline, and white musk are the three notes that envelop the perfume in a warm, amber, and sweet touch. It is a fragrance that embraces me in a warm and enveloping sweetness, but at the same time, evokes mystery and seduction!
The bottle is simply divine—a purple bottle, as elegant and as beautiful as the perfume itself.
I will continue with Mango Wave, a fruity perfume with juicy and sweet notes of mango. It is a delicious, fruity-tropical fragrance, with exotic notes of mango, pomegranate, fragrant peach, sweet and juicy orange, and gourmand notes of brown sugar. Here, saffron, oakmoss, and jasmine balance the perfume and cut just a bit through the juicy sweetness.
Mango Wave is a summer perfume, light and joyful, that puts you in a good mood, brings back that vacation and relaxation vibe, and inspires you to dream.
I left Ambret Sunset for last, but not because I like it any less, as I love it just as much as the others; however, it is the least gourmand among the five Librery Paris perfumes.
Ambret Sunset is perhaps one of the most beautiful perfumes featuring a note of ripe, velvety apricot, iris, and fine, delicate suede. It is a powdery, woody, musky perfume, with notes of leather, saffron, and sandalwood. I find it to be simultaneously creamy, powdery, fine, and extremely elegant, yet with a gourmand, fruity side as well.
I love these perfumes and I am enjoying the three beautiful scents that I have in my wardrobe.
